Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use those services.

Information we collect

Account and authentication information. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and, depending on what you choose to share, information such as your name and email address. We also use authentication, App Check, installation, and security tokens to protect the services and prevent abuse.

Subscriptions and purchase information. Purchases are handled by Apple. We and our subscription management provider, such as RevenueCat, receive limited information needed to confirm subscription status and entitlements, such as product identifiers, subscription status, transaction or receipt metadata, and entitlement state. We do not receive your full payment card details.

User content and settings. We process information you create or store in the app, such as watchlists, dashboards, layout preferences, saved settings, tile configurations, sharing settings, and user-defined ticker tags or labels.

Activity, technical, and diagnostic data. We collect app events, feature usage, timestamps, IP address, device and operating system type, app version, language or locale, time zone, installation identifiers, request metadata, logs, crash reports, performance diagnostics, and fraud-prevention or abuse-prevention signals.

AI and news feature context. If you use AI-powered features, market recap features, explained-move features, or similar features, we may process selected tickers, universes, settings, market data, headlines, article excerpts, source links, prompt parameters, and text you submit.

Waitlist and communications information. If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address and related submission details such as timestamp, page path, referrer, and campaign parameters.

Communications. If you contact us, we receive the content of your message and any contact information you provide.

How we use information

We use information to operate, maintain, protect, and improve TickerTiles. This includes providing dashboards, watchlists, market data displays, charts, news links, source links, share links, interoperability links, and AI-powered features; syncing your content across devices when you enable cloud sync; confirming subscription status and managing paid access; sending waitlist and launch updates if you join the waitlist; responding to support requests; preventing abuse; troubleshooting issues; monitoring reliability; and complying with legal obligations.

We use analytics and diagnostics to understand usage trends and improve reliability and performance. Where permitted, we may create de-identified and aggregated analytics, metrics, and insights derived from user content and activity, such as aggregated ticker popularity, watchlist concentration, feature usage, and tag frequency. We do not use collected data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking as defined by Apple.

How we share information

We share information only as needed to operate the services, comply with law, or protect our rights.

Service providers. Depending on what you use, providers may include authentication providers, Firebase services, Cloudflare and other hosting or storage providers, Apple App Store and RevenueCat, market data and news providers such as Finnhub and Tickertick, AI providers such as OpenAI and DeepSeek when AI features are used, and logo or icon services. These providers may process device and connection data, such as IP address, to deliver their services and for security and fraud prevention.

Aggregated insights. Where permitted, we may share or license de-identified and aggregated insights and datasets derived from user activity and content for research, analytics, and alternative data use cases. These disclosures are intended not to identify you, and recipients are required not to attempt to re-identify users.

Third-party links and apps. The services may open third-party websites or apps, including finance, brokerage, news, or charting apps. When you choose to open a link, we may pass limited information needed to fulfill your request, such as a ticker symbol in a URL or deep link. Those third parties have their own terms and privacy practices.

Legal, safety, and business transfers. We may share information if needed to comply with law, protect security or rights, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.

Your choices

You can choose whether to sign in, whether to enable cloud sync, whether to create share links, and whether to use optional AI-powered or browser-link features.

Where required by law, we obtain consent or provide choices for collection and uses that require consent. You can withdraw consent or change choices going forward by adjusting in-app settings where available and/or by contacting [email protected].

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to opt out of certain disclosures that some laws call a sale or sharing of personal information. Email [email protected] with the subject line Do Not Sell or Share.

If you create an account, you can initiate account deletion in the app. You can also delete synced cloud dashboards, watchlists, and settings while keeping your account. Deleting your TickerTiles account does not cancel an Apple App Store subscription; subscriptions are managed through Apple.

AI features

AI-generated market recaps, move explanations, summaries, categorizations, and similar outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Do not include sensitive personal information in AI inputs. AI providers process information under their own terms and policies, and you are responsible for deciding what information you submit.

Storage, retention, and security

Many settings and content may be stored locally on your device. If you sign in and enable cloud features, we store content such as dashboards, watchlists, tags, and settings on cloud infrastructure to provide those features. If you create a share link, we store the shared content needed to resolve that link. Logs and diagnostics may be retained to maintain security, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the services and for legitimate business purposes, such as security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children, international use, and changes

TickerTiles is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. We are based in the United States, and information may be processed in the United States and other countries. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, and the Last updated date indicates the latest revision.
